What is an LCD screen?

The LCD screen is composed of many liquid crystals arranged in an array, each of which is a pixel, which is used to control the position and shape of the image on the screen. In a monochrome LCD screen, one liquid crystal is a pixel, while in a color LCD screen, each pixel is composed of three liquid crystals: red, green and blue.

The structural characteristic of liquid crystal is that the molecules have certain ordered properties. When the liquid crystal molecules adjust the molecular direction under the action of the electric field, the electro-optical effect can change the liquid crystal light from linearly polarized light to birefringent light, and can change the vibration direction of the light, thereby achieving the purpose of adjusting the transmitted or reflected light and then changing the image.

During the operation of the LCD screen, light is irradiated onto the LCD panel through the backlight source. After the liquid crystal molecules on the LCD panel adjust the vibration direction of the light, it is converted into a color image through a color filter. Therefore, the structural system of the LCD screen is generally composed of a backlight source, a liquid crystal layer and an OC control circuit.

Light-colored pixels can better maintain the brightness of the original color, and a good LCD panel design can also provide a wider viewing angle to prevent image deformation when viewed from the side.

5. Fast response speed

LCD screens have a faster response speed than traditional CRT screens, which can greatly shorten the screen refresh time and improve the smoothness of the image.

6. Bright colors

LCD screens can display bright and saturated images. And with the continuous development of LCD display technology, the colors displayed by color LCD screens are getting closer and closer to CRT monitors.
